LAB
Colorimeters are used to determine the color spectrum of objects. Light is a broad spectrum of hues; it is not limited to black, white, and blue. The object is first illuminated by the light source. A substance that absorbs a portion of the light returns the remainder. The colorimeter determines the color by measuring the portion of the spectrum that is reflected.
